What is doughnutting?
In Westminster, “doughnutting” is the practice of MPs gathering on the benches around a colleague who is speaking, so the camera shows a ring of supportive faces. It’s shorthand for who turns up around whom.
Donut Map borrows the idea as a metaphor, not a data source. We don’t track where anyone sits. Instead we map the documented activity that shows who repeatedly works alongside whom — the amendments, motions, groups, votes and bills they put their names to together.
What Donut Map does
Search any current MP or peer
Type a name and add them as a starting point.
See ranked documented associates
Everyone they’ve worked with — in both the Commons and Lords — ordered by total joint activities.
Inspect the evidence
Open any connection to see dated records with links to the official source.
Search a group
Add several people to find who links them, by breadth then depth.
Spot recurring patterns
See whether a connection recurs across different kinds of parliamentary activity.
Brief with confidence
Every result is auditable, so you can stand behind it in front of a client.

Method and trust
- Evidence since 1 January 2015. Based on parliamentary records from 1 January 2015 to 15 September 2026.
- Current members as starting points. Any current MP or peer can be searched. Former parliamentarians may appear in results where they shared documented activity.
- Counts, not scores. Connections are ranked by unweighted totals of joint activity. Nothing is blended into an opaque score.
- No claims of friendship or influence. We show documented activity. We don’t infer friendship, influence, ideology or motive.
